How To Increase The Internal App Storage In Micromax Unite 2 A106

Hello everyone It's been a while since I have written a blog post, but now I am back with new updates on technology and with some great and unique posts about your everyday tech life. In this post I will be discussing about How you can Increase your app storage in Micromax Unite 2 phone.

As we know the Micromax Unite 2 comes in two types: One with 4gb internal storage and other with 8gb internal storage and in both the phones the app memory is only 1Gb which reduces to 800mb approximately. Many people face problems regarding installation of new apps and some are even try to sell their phones :p . But no need to worry now Today I will try to change their decision through this post.

The Micromax Unite 2 comes with Kitkat OS. So the first step will be to upgrade your Android Kitkat to Lollipop. You can upgrade the Android version directly through your phone and also by the use of your laptop/pc. I will be providing the link to download Android Lollipop for Micromax Unite 2 but first of all following are the requirements to increase the app storage in Micromax Unite 2.

You can download any partition from the following available partitions. Remember for 4Gb internal storage it is recommended to use upto 2.5 Gb partition.

Download any one repartition file:

Requirements:

Steps to flash Lollipop OTA firmware with repartition:

Step 1: Unzip all downloaded files in PC using WinZip, WinRar, etc.
Step 2: Open A106_Lollipop_OTA_Firmware folder and delete stock EBR1EBR2and MT6582_Android_scatter.txt as shown in below screenshot

Step 3: Open Repartition folder and copy  new  EBR1, EBR2 and        MT6582_Android_scatter.txt

Step 4: Open A106_Lollipop_OTA_Firmware folder and paste copied files.
Step 5: Open SP Flash Tool and click Scatter-Loading

Step6: Select MT6582_Android_scatter.txt from A106_Lollipop_OTA_Firmware folder and click Open to load file in SP Flash Tool. It will load all required files automatically.

Step 7: Select Firmware Upgrade from drop-down menu (1) as shown in below screenshot. Click Download button (2) in SP Flash Tool

Step 8: Remove battery from phone and connect phone to PC via USB cable.
If still doesn’t start flashing then check whether drivers are installed properly or not.

It may take 3-4 min for flashing. After successful flashing remove USB cable and press power button to switch on phone. 1st boot may take 7-10 minutes.
I have got some problems while flashing so you must use the latest versions of SP Flash tools and you must have the drivers of Micromax Unite 2 for successful flashing.

If you get any problem you can comment below.
